We are pleased to share the CCBE Guide for Bars & Lawyers on the New Pact on Migration and Asylum.
Prepared by the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), this practical guide provides an overview of the key legal and procedural changes introduced by the EU's New Pact on Migration and Asylum. It is intended to support lawyers and bar associations as the Pact is implemented across Member States.
Focusing on the aspects most relevant to legal practitioners, the guide explains the new screening procedures, asylum procedures, the Asylum and Migration Management Regulation, and the Crisis Regulation. It highlights the role of lawyers in safeguarding access to justice, legal assistance, and the fundamental rights of migrants and asylum seekers throughout the different stages of the process.
We encourage lawyers, bar associations, and organisations working in the field of asylum and migration to consult this valuable resource as they prepare for the implementation of the new legal framework.
A Practical Guide to Collaborative Access to Justice Pro bono Projects
We are very excited to share the Practical Guide to Collaborative Access to Justice Pro Bono Projects.
Building on the tremendous success of these types of projects across Europe and the UK, Amy Grunske (Orrick), Fabi Fugazza (Coalizione Italiana Libertà e Diritti civili), Jo Khatib (Dentons) and Phil Worthington (European Lawyers in Lesvos) prepared a guide outlining best practice in the development and management of collaborative pro bono projects.
The guide was designed to help both NGOs and law firms that are new to this model to set up their own collaborative projects through which they can provide pro bono legal support to vulnerable individuals.
