Aida Samani (Legal Assistant - September/October 2018)

Aida has a Master in Law from Sweden with a specialization in International Migration Law and Human Rights Law.

She has previously worked on strategic litigation as a legal adviser for the human rights organization Civil Rights Defenders and has worked on a voluntary basis within the field of asylum law since 2013.

This is her first time volunteering with European Lawyers in Lesvos.

Martina is registered with the Hamburg Bar Association.

She has been working in the field of asylum law since 2016.

This is her fourth time volunteering with European Lawyers in Lesvos.

Pat Munro (September 2018)

Pat Monro is registered with the Law Society of England and Wales.

She works as a lawyer for Refugee Action Kingston. For 17 years she has worked as a part-time judge at a tribunal hearing immigration and asylum cases.

She has been working in asylum law for 17 years.

This is her first time volunteering with European Lawyers in Lesvos.

Legal Assistants (July - September 2018)

Anna Graff is studying law at the Humboldt University Berlin and has a Master in Sociology and Bachelor in French and Social Science. Since May 2018, she has been a member of the Refugee Law Clinic of the Humboldt University. She worked as a researcher for the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration for two years.  

Katharina von Schack studied law in Germany and is spending three months with ELIL as part of her legal traineeship. She has a Master in Refugee and Migration Law and has been working as a volunteer for different organisations, including Amnesty International and the Law Clinic Leipzig, in the field of asylum law for eight years.

Nadia O’Mara is a member of the Bar of England and Wales. She is working as an Advocacy and Policy Officer for Liberty in London. She volunteered in the Calais Refugee Camp, as well as at the Hackney Community Law Centre. She worked for JUSTICE as a legal researcher and has a Master’s degree which included refugee law issues.

Jared Ficklin (August/September 2018)

Jared Ficklin is registered with the Bar Council of England and Wales.

At home, he works as an asylum lawyer and is the director of the Refugee Law Clinic of the University in Liverpool.

He has been working in asylum law since 2004 and qualified as a barrister in 2011.

This is his fourth time volunteering with European Lawyers in Lesvos.

At home, she works as a lawyer in migration and asylum law.

She has been working in the field of asylum law since 2012.
